Charities

For many years, partially prompted by the USA Embargo, in addition to global charitable organizations, many people have formed charities to assist the people of Cuba directly. Some of these charities align with socialism in Cuba as "being in solidarity" with Cuba. Other charities, such as Cuba AIDS Project, www.cubaonline.org or www.cubaaidsproject.com, are not politically inclined and deal only with the issue at hand. Caritas is the international charity operating in Cuba affiliated with the Catholic Church.
