| Agriculture | Architecture Old Habana (Habana vieja) is a World treasure. UNESCO designated Habana vieja a World Heritage site. Old Habana is a curious combination of sea and wind worn fotresses and crumbling old buildings with pastel colors being carefully restored along the wide, fast traffic El Malecon mixed with narrow streets, archways, balconies, old plazas, the Cathedral of Habana and pedestrians hurrying around with daily chores or simply talking among themselves under the vigilant eye of the ever present Cuban police. In other cities, such as Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos and Camaguey, the palaces, museums, churches, cathedrals, theaters and government offices continue to evoke the rich Spanish, Creole or Arabic influences found in the architecture of Cuba. While studying architecture may not be the primary reason you are traveling to Cuba, dismissing the architecture of Cuba while you are there is nothing less than a serious mistake.
